Kayisii visits screening point at Mao; frontal organizations help differently-abled persons

Senapati, April 21 2020:
Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Kayisii visited the screening point and quarantine centres at Nagaland and Manipur border town, Mao.
He interacted with the Nodal Officer, SDO Song Song, and other officials and personnel engaged at both the designated places.
The Minister appreciated the tireless efforts and dedication of all those front-liners engaged in both the centres and thanked them.
Later, he visited the quarantine centre at JNV and interacted with the inmates.
There were 23 of them at the time of the visit at around 2 pm.
On interacting, the inmates expressed their inconveniences regarding food and room facilities to the Minister.
It is reported that those engaged at the centre are reportedly trying their best with the limited resources available.
After hearing from the in-charges and those engaged at the centres of the difficulties and other limitations, the Minister assured that the matter will be discussed with all concerned.
While distributing 4 bags of rice, one bag of potato, one bag of dal, and one bag of salt to the centre, the Minister urged everyone to follow the norms and guidelines laid down by the authority to be safe from the disease.
The local Minister also donated rice to villages under Katomei circle including New Eden, Namgdilong and other neighbouring villages.
District Frontal Organizations distribute rice & vegetables
Reaching out to the differently-abled persons of the Senapati district, the District frontal organizations comprising of the Naga People's Organization, Senapati District Students Association and the Senapati District Women Association distributed 5 kg of rice and different varieties of locally available vegetables in front of SDSA office.
Speaking at the gathering, Solomon Arow, president, Naga People's Organization said that the relief materials were distributed to the selected displaced, widows, widowers, helpless, HIV AIDS infected and differently able persons of the district.
The president announced that relief materials consisting of rice, potato and salt were donated by the United NGOs Mission, Manipur and the locally available vegetables were donated by Makui Naga village and Taphou Naga village.
The president further sought support from the public not to contain the virus effectively and make the region a corona virus-free place.
He added that they would continue to provide such food items even in future to underprivileged people.
The distribution was done in the presence of District Child Line, Senapati.
