Imphal, February 18 2013 : A three-day State level Youth festival was kick-started today at Lamyanba Sanglen, Palace Compound under the auspices of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Imphal Zone.

The inaugural function of the youth festival was graced by Parliamentary Secretary, Victor Keishing and L Tilotama, Vice-Chairperson, Board of Governors, NYKS, YAS Govt of India as the chief guest and president respectively.

Speaking at the occasion, Victor Keishing stressed on the need to conduct close interaction among the youths of different communities of the State.

He anticipated that by taking out various activities like song and dance competition among the youths during the festival would serve as a force for cultural integration.

L Tilotama said the festival also aims to act as a cultural exchange for different communities of the State.

Various stalls including handloom and handicraft stalls were also opened by delegates from the nine districts of the State at the festival.
