Women's group gives clean chit to Shyam

Secretary of Changangei Chaokhat Nupi Lup, Yumnam Sundari has clarified that there was no involvement of CAFPD Minister Karam Shyam in the confrontation that took place between some locals and supporters of Chairperson, Lilong Nagar Panchayat.
Giving the clarification in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today afternoon, Y Sundari said that a lady who identified herself as Arambam Omila, Chairperson of Lilong Nagar Panchayat along with police personnel came to the residence of RK Rameshor of Changangei Mayai Leikai where a ritual feast was organised.
She alleged that the residence was cordoned by them, claiming that Councillor of Lilong Nagar Panchayat, Thounaojam Anil was held captive at the residence as per a message sent by the Councillor to the Chairperson.
A heated argument erupted between the two sides.
Later some women who came along with the Chairperson were allowed to enter the residence for searching, she narrated.
She claimed that the Chairperson kept on arguing despite failure to find Anil at the residence.
She said that Minister Karam Shyam arrived at the spot after he got the information about the incident.
The tense situation was brought under control after the arrival of the Minister who took away the Chairperson and others who came along with her.
After some minutes, a large number of supporters of the Chairperson turned up at the residence and started an argument with the locals leading to a confrontation, she said.
Sundari clarified that Minister Karam Shyam was not involved in the confrontation and he has nothing to do with the incident.
