Imphal, January 25 2018:
After Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand asked IOC and other authorities concerned to book and take up befitting action against PCTC Khoyathong for adulterating diesel with kerosene, oil sample collected from the oil pump has been sent to Guwahati for laboratory test.
Notably, vehicles of Speaker Y Khemchand and his escorts were filled with adulterated diesel at PCTC on January 23.IOC's Divisional Retail Sales Office Imphal Deputy General Manager Sinam Ibungoton informed that IOC officials checked and collected sample from the underground tank apart from sealing all the four dispensing nozzles connected to the particular tank.
The oil sample collected from the underground tank was sent to Guwahati today for laboratory test along with the sample collected from the oil tanker before the same load was pumped into the underground tank.
Moreover, oil sample collected from the supply location would also be sent for laboratory test, Ibungoton said.
The truth can be ascertained after the diesel components and their specifications of all the three samples are analysed in the laboratory.
Necessary action would be initiated after ascertaining the truth, he said.
Diesel contained in the particular underground tank of PCTC had the standard density but what substances were used to adulterate it can be ascertained only after laboratory test, said the Deputy General Manager.
According to information received from the IOC's Malom depot, the diesel pumped into the underground tank of PCTC was brought from Tinsukia, Assam by one transporter named Januka Devi Acharya and it was diverted to PCTC without unloading at Malom.
According to the IOC's latest circular, samples of fuel diverted to oil pumps should not be collected from Malom but from their supply location which happens to be Tinsukia in the particular case, said the source.
