Chandel, November 04 2015:
Chandel District Private Schools Association today organized a protest rally in Chandel district headquarters against the omission of Additional English from the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) syllabus.
The rally was flagged off from Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School Ground.
Over 1500 students marched till DC Office complex where a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister was handed over to S Sambhunath Singh, ADC Chandel.
Reverend RD Joykumar Anal, president of Chandel District Private Schools Association said that ever since BOSEM implemented the 3 tier language policy, schools in hill districts have been continuously demanding to include the Additional English subject in the syllabus.
He maintained that it is impossible for school authorities to appoint language teachers of each community.
Urging to appoint a qualified chairman of BOSEM, he also urged the State Government to create separate board exclusively for hill districts or categorize BOSEM into hill and valley sections.
