Family members of late Roshan Ali threatened

Imphal, August 02 2014 : The family members of late Roshan Ali has today allegedly charged that Md Atawat Rehman had fired gun shots at the gate of the late Roshan Ali while shouting that all the family members will be killed.

In a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club Majorkhul, the family member appealed to social organisations and concerned authority to look into their case.

Narrating the story to the media persons, Md Salatur Rehman, a son of the elder of brother Roshan Ali told that Salawar Rehman, an employee of Excise department and his wife Leihang Bibi of Haoreibi Makha Leikai has visited Roshan Ali in 2013 informing Roshan Ali that their son Mustalim was detained by Laishram Hari of Kakwa Naorem Leikai for some private matters among themselves.

The couple further informed that Hari demanded to come along with the Councilor for a possible negotiation.

The councilor who is late Roshan Ali's elder sister Jubeda Khatun (48) went to meet Hari along with a ward member and Hari asked the visiting team that should they bring Rs 2 lakh.

Jubeda replied that they came there to pick up Mustakim as she was asked to do so.

In her reply, Hari informed them that they did not allow leaving his residence unless the amount was paid, Salatur Rehman narrated.

Consequently, Jubeda called Mustakim's father at Hari's residence and the father-son duo were detained there that night.

Jubeda visited Hari the next day with Rs 2 lakh and returned back with Mustakim and his father Salawar Rehman, the narrative continued.

However, the Tata truck with vehicle documents of Mustakim was held up by Hari in connection with due of amount Rs 50,000 following which Roshan Ali visited Hari at the residence of the later and paid back the said amount.

But Hari did not give the truck as well as its documents on the ground that Hari's men were in jail term under National Security Act for which Hari charged that his men were arrested by the police with disclosure of Mustakim acting as CID or informer.

In this matter, Hari informed that the truck would be handed over after his men were released from the jail, Salatur Rehman continued.

In the mean time, Mustakim and his family members had killed Roshan Ali on June 10, 2014 at his own gate of Haoreibi Makha Leikai on the charge that the amount of Rs 50,000 was taken by late Roshan Ali following which Mustakim surrendered the next day to Lilong police station.

Salatur Rehman further conveyed that on July 30 last month, Mustakim's brother Md Atawat Rehman fired a number of gun shots at the gate of the late Roshan Ali while shouting that all the family members will be killed thereby creating tension and mental restlessness among the family members.

In this regard, he appealed to all social organisations and concerned authority to look into their case.
