Mayai Lambi blocked over MLA's misinformation

Imphal, July 31 2011: In protest against the alleged act of misinforming police by MLA Dr Kh Ratankumar which led to arrest of innocent people, local people of Mayang Imphal blocked Mayai Lambi today.

Sagolsem Bode (45) of Mayang Imphal Konchak Mamang Leikai was apprehended by a team of Mayang Imphal police station at about 4 am today.

On being queried at the police station, the local people were told that Bode was arrested for stealing a laptop computer of MLA Ratankumar.

According to the secretary of Senior Citizens Forum Mayang Imphal Ch Naollo, Bode was earlier working as personal assistant of MLA Ratankumar.

Since sometime back, Bode left Ratankumar and started working for Kongkham Manglen who is aspiring to contest the Assembly elections in Mayang Imphal AC.

Peeved at the sudden change of Bode's allegiance, Ratankumar misinformed police and plotted for Bode's arrest, Naollo alleged.

The laptop alleged to have been stolen was out of order and it was bought by Bode from Hooter, a younger brother of Ratankumar at Rs 8000.This was known to Ratankumar's brother-in-law Surjit.

Alleging that Ratankumar was using police as a weapon for his selfish political interest, Naollo declared that the people of Mayang Imphal would be launch various movements against the local MLA if Bode is not released without any condition at the earliest.

On the other hand, Mayai Lambi was blocked today at Mayang Imphal in protest against the arrest of Bode.
