Imphal, January 14 2013:
Having put up their proposals after more than 60 rounds of talks with Delhi since the ceasefire pact was inked way back in 1997, Chairman of the NSCN (IM) Isak Chisi Swu and General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah are at Hebron awaiting a call from Delhi.
The two leaders were scheduled to leave for Delhi on January 12, but had decided to 'extend their Christmas vacation indefinitely citing piling home work' .
Speaking to The Sangai Express, a reliable source said that with Delhi consulting the Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur on the proposals put up by the NSCN (IM), Swu and Muivah are still at Camp Hebron awaiting a call from Delhi.
The call from Delhi will come only after the proposals put up by the NSCN (IM) are thoroughly discussed with the said Chief Ministers.

Stating that the Government of India is working in right earnest to work out a final settlement to the Indo-Naga issue, the source said that Union Home Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde has already discussed the proposals of the NSCN (IM) with the Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
Significantly, Manipur's Chief Minister O Ibobi is presently at Delhi and has also had a series of meetings with the Prime Minister, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Union Home Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde as well as the Defence Minister and Finance Minister.
The Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam have not posed any problems to the proposals put forward, said the source and added that as of now, the only obstacle is Manipur.
Asserting that the Naga people have reposed their faith and confidence on the leadership of the NSCN (IM) to negotiate on their behalf, the source said that the proposals put up before the Government of India is to ensure the democratic rights of the Naga people.
The source however refused to divulge details of the proposals put up before Delhi by the NSCN (IM) but conceded that the proposals are the final points put up to pave the way for a settlement.
Significantly on the day the two NSCN (IM) leaders were to leave for Delhi (January 12), Chief Minister O Ibobi met the Union Home Secretary, RK Singh in connection with the political dialogue between the Naga rebel group and the Government of India.
This was after the Chief Minister had met the Union Home Minister and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on January 11 .
Though it is not still not yet clear what transpired in January 11 meeting, O Ibobi is understood to have stated the position of the State Government clearly.
