Imphal, May 05:
While appreciating the State Govt for respecting the lives of innocent people by arming the civilians, KSO general headquarters on the other hand expressed strong reservations over the manner in which the Govt took the decision without going into the intricacies of the effects it may trigger.
KSO in a press statement asked why the Govt has not utilized the service of Home Guards and other personnel under its payroll instead of arming the civil populace.
If issuing arms to the civilains can be the solution, KSO asked why Govt did not do the same when lawlessness and terror attacks were at its peak in early 1990s.
