Imphal, February 21 2016 :
The 12-hour general strike clamped by Maoist Communist Party Manipur affected normal life in the State, specially in valley districts today.
The bandh was called against the killings of Chung-kham Sanjit and Thokchom Rabina at Khwairamband Bazar on July 23, 2009 .
All the shops and business establishments at Khwai-ramband Bazar, Singjamei, Kongba, Kwakeithel and Lamlong remained closed during the bandh.
Traffic was relatively thin in Imphal and adjoining areas.
No inter-State and inter-district passenger buses came to the State capital during the bandh.

However, private vehicles and passenger auto rickshaws were seen plying on the roads.
Although, security personnel were deployed at different areas, no extra vigil and additional security measures for the bandh were visible.
The bandh did not affect flight services.
It may be mentioned that a statement issued by the outfit had urged the public to take the bandh as resumption of people's stir against July 23 Khwairamband bazar incident with Head Constable Th Herojit confessing killing of Chungkham Sanjit in a fake encounter on the day.
