Imphal, November 20 2016:
ICHAM has fervently appealed to UNC to call off the ongoing economic blockade and at the same time urged the group(s) and organisation(s) concerned to withdraw the counter economic blockade.
Speaking to mediapersons at ICHAM office located at North AOC, ICHAM president N Rajendro said that both economic blockade and counter blockade should be withdrawn immediately considering the harrowing hardships of the people.
Some are against the declaration of Jiribam sub-division as a full-fledged revenue district and another section of people are against the declaration of Sadar Hills as a full-fledged district.
Chief Minister should consult the parties concerned in order to resolve the issue without further delay.
Chief Minister should resign if he has to work only for his gain, he said.
ICHAM general secretary Ngachonmi Ramshang said that both economic blockade and counter economic blockade have caused great difficulties for people.
"To resolve people's issue is the responsibility of the State Government.
Immediate steps should be taken up to solve this grievous issue," he added.
