Imphal, November 23 2017: Pointing out that many central leaders came to the State and repeatedly clarified that the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM does not contain anything mimical to the interest of Manipur, BJP Manipur Pradesh president and MP K Bhabananda has questioned Congress party's alleged obsession with the Framework Agreement.

He made this statement while addressing a one-day political conference today at Mayang Imphal Bazar multipurpose hall under the aegis of BJP Mayang Imphal Mandal.

Saying that Congress party has been holding protest demonstrations at public places where they speak at length about the Framework Agreement thereby creating an uneasy feeling among the masses, Bhabananda asserted that people need not fear the agreement.

He also appealed to the masses not to take in what the Congress leaders have been speaking.

He said that the Congress party's campaign against Framework Agreement is aimed at diverting people's attention away from the different development works taken up by the BJP-led Government.

Congress party too knows that Framework Agreement does not contain anything and it would not impinge upon the interest of Manipur in any manner.

Yet, Congress party which ruled the State by banking on the votes of plain people after dividing the hills and the valley for three consecutive terms has been using the Framework Agreement as a political tool.

Churning out false propaganda and false promises as if the masses are fools can no longer win elections, Bhabananda said.

Former Union Minister Th Chaoba said that Congress party has been dramatising the Framework Agreement in their efforts to win votes for the next Lok Sabha election.

"People need not be uncannily fearful of the Framework Agreement.

There are many leaders in the country who are equally shrewd like NSCN-IM's Th Muivah.

The Central leaders would not listen to whatever demands put up by NSCN-IM.

They (central leaders) cannot shut their ears to what we say", Chaoba said.

Expressing strong scepticism about the Government of India's readiness to act on the Framework Agreement, Chaoba exuded confidence that New Delhi would think twice before taking any decision.

Saying that there are BJP Governments in most North Eastern States, Chaoba asked as to why Congress party has been floating volumes of propaganda that BJP would take a drastic decision that would devastate Manipur.

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, present Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured that the territorial integrity of Manipur would be kept intact.

The Framework Agreement does not contain the word Manipur and the Government of India would not do anything which is inimical to the interest of Manipur just to appease NSCN-IM and Nagaland, Chaoba said.

MLA K Robindro too questioned the motive behind Congress party's false propaganda about Framework Agreement when cordial relationship between hill people and plain people has been restored.

BJP Manipur Pradesh former presidents M Bhorot, Sh Shantikumar and Vision Document convenor Dr RK Ranjan too spoke at the conference.
