Agri experts visit Shajouba village

In an initiative taken up under the supervision of District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Senapati, an agriculture expert team visited the vegetable fields of Shajouba village yesterday.
The village has been producing cabbage and cauliflower since past 10 years without any seasonal break.
The expert team expressed delight on the fact that some villagers have also started farming of onion successfully at their farmlands.
The team detected that Diamond Back Moths were creating trouble to cauliflowers and cabbages and Thrifts Mites to onions.
According to DAO Senapati, M Gojendro Singh, the visit was conducted with an objective to find out the way of enhancing production by implementing integrated pest management and integrated nutrient management to the crops being farmed in the area.

The DAO also urged the farmers of the area to take part in the crop competition by farming not only vegetables but also rice.
Co-ordinator of KVK Wangbal, Dr M Thoithoi Singh, Plant Health Clinic expert Kh Nimaichand Singh and Horticulture expert K Devdutta Sharma were in the team.
