RPF greets on Independence Demand Day-I
Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, February 24 2017: Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) president Irengbam Chaoren has greeted all the people of Manipur while paying homage to all the 'martyrs' who had paid with their precious lives for the cause of the National liberation movement.

Unmet aspirations and chronic political instability in Manipur have been solely caused by India's alleged annexation of Manipur.

Electoral mandates to choose qualified representatives as an attempt to improve the pitiable conditions of the people of Manipur shall bear no fruit as long as Manipur remains an occupied territory of India, reads a statement issued by the RPF leader on the occasion of the 38th foundation of RPF (Independence Demand Day) .

History is testimony to the unmet aspirations of the people of Manipur.

The people are ever more aware of their sterility.

Continuation of such sterility for any longer period would entail a great danger for the people of Manipur as it could potentially lead to destruction of the lives and fervour of the people of Manipur.

The RPF is dedicated to achieve an independent status of Manipur with an objective spirit to attain "self-reliant social equality".

Such an objective spirit is a fundamental basis under which the shared existential bonding amongst the people of Manipur could be ensured with a scope of co-existence and progress, added Chaoren.

The independence of Manipur is fundamentally linked to the realization of peaceful co-existence.

The continuing participation in the alleged Indian colonial system is nothing less than a farcical exercise for the political destiny of the people of Manipur.

A resolute thinking and political action towards a new revolutionary era is the urgent need of the hour, Chaoren asserted.

Inciting communalism and attempts to pit one against another is a predominant strategy to subdue the struggle for independence of the people of Manipur.

The colonial character of Indian rule has been more than evident as it has been playing a key role in promoting communal hatred amongst co-existing communities.

Independence of Manipur is the ultimate alternative that can end the communalization politics in Manipur, added the statement.

The onus of emphasizing the indispensable connection between the collective co-existence and quest for independence lies with the revolutionary parties.

The RPF is more than convinced to stand firm against any sectarian and communal interruptions to the unity of Manipur.

RPF sees the rise of communal mobilization as engineered by a few segment of political class in cohorts with the colonial forces.

"RPF would never fall prey to the colonial game plan of dragging our struggle for independence into a web of communal misunderstand.

RPF call upon the people of Manipur to be cautious and patient in dealing with the growing communal conspiracies", the statement reads.

The revolutionary goal of co-existence and collective progress is not utopian.

The goal is rooted in history and it is the only available option.

Historically, the evolution of the co-existing communities into a stable political entity is rooted in the concurrent courses of the emergence of a demarcated territory, resistance to external invading forces, alliance and treaty making powers with foreign powers, shared lingua franca and shared socio-economic and cultural practices.

Each of the communities had evolved distinctively as different communities that are historically bounded to one another and under certain common structure that is manifested territorially.

These are the achievements of the ancestors and forefathers of the co-existing communities.

There can be unique histories of clans, families and communities within the larger rubric of an organic composite comprising various segments.

No one cannot deny this history, though there are attempts to propagate a polemical discourse of communal dichotomy that interpret communal antagonism since time immemorial.

Such discourse constitutes reactionary historiography with the sole agenda to misinterpret the past.

Their objective is to play negative roles towards misguiding people into fascist sentiment and communal bloodbath.

Such discourse advocates neo-liberal solutions and encourages terrorism and genocide in the name of communal identity.

But, it cannot contribute anything to the national democratic revolution and social emancipation of the people, it continued.
