MLA teams to start assessment of houses gutted in conflict from Aug 21: S Premchandra

Kumbi Assembly Constituency MLA S Premchandra has shared that from Monday (August 21) teams of MLAs will begin assessing houses razed in the conflict accompanied by the respective DCs to initiate the process of building new houses.
The MLA made the statement during a distribution of banana saplings sponsored by the Horticulture Department and urea bags issued by the Agriculture Department at Salankonjil under Kumbi AC .
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Premchandra stated that being a farming community, the people of Kumbi AC need urea and arrangements for other alternative crops despite the volatile situation prevailing in the State.
Thus the urea and banana saplings distribution was organised to meet the requirements of the people.
Notably, the MLA mentioned that teams comprising of three MLAs each and DCs will begin inspecting the houses burnt by Kuki militants from Monday onwards.
Maintaining that Central and State leaders are making concerted efforts to restore normalcy in Manipur, he added that the Uyungmakhong dam is operational again and called for collective efforts to plant other alternative crops once the present crops in the fields have been harvested.
The MLA also assured to continue providing humanitarian aid to those who have impacted by the violence and seeking refuge at relief camps.
Stating that the Manipur Government is taking up all round efforts to help the relief camp inmates, he also raised the call for mutual cooperation among the people of Kumbi to bring about collective development.
During the event, 1000 banana saplings were distributed to fifty people.
