JAC warns 24 hours bandh in Bpr

The JAC formed in connection with the abduction of Khundongbam Doren Singh of Nachou Kha Leikai, has served an ultimatum to the Chief Minister threatening to call a 24 hour Bishnupur bandh from midnight tomorrow to midnight of December 19.A press release issued by the secretary of the JAC mentioned that Khundongbam Doren Singh s/o Kh Yaiskul Singh went missing after he went out from home at around 3 pm of November 9 and has not been heard from ever since.
A complaint was lodged at Bishnupur PS and repeated appeals were made to the State Government as well regarding the matter but to no avail.
The JAC decided to impose a bandh along Tiddim road on November 26 but the decision was revoked in light of Manipur Sangai Festival 2018, it explained.
It further conveyed that on December 15, the people of Nachou held a public meeting and it was resolved to call a 24 hours Bishnupur bandh from tomorrow mid-night till midnight of December 19 condemning the failure of the State Government to take up any positive steps regarding the disappearance of Doren.
The JAC further continued that if the Chief Minister and the State Government fail to do the needful even till then, the JAC in collaboration with various CSOs will launch intensified agitation.
