Found dead

A shop owner who had gone to collect the monthly rent for his rented shop was found dead in a suspicious manner inside his shop.
According to information received belatedly, Haobam Robindro alias Imu (48) of Khurai Ahongei went to collect monthly rents for his shops located at North AOC at about 6.30 pm of June 18 .
Half an hour later, Robindro's family was informed that he had died.
After post mortem examination at RIMS, last rites for the deceased have been already performed.
The post mortem report indicated that Robindro was smashed with a heavy object on the head.
Robindro was also strangulated with a rope like item as per the post mortem report, said the bereaved wife Bala Devi.
Maintaining that Robindro did not die due to natural or medical causes and that he was beaten to death, local people of Khurai Ahongei staged a protest demonstration today.
Robindro is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
One of the protesters informed that four individuals including a woman namely Seerla from Senapati have been taken into police custody in connection with the death/murder of Robindro.
Seerla used to sell liquor in one of the shops owned by Robindro.
One of her daughters is also among the accused pulled up by police.
