IFAD proj to cover Chandel, Churachandpur

The North East Community Resource Development Project taken up with funding from International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) will now encompass Chandel and Churachandpur districts too.
This was decided in a meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) held at New Delhi.
Already, Senapati and Ukhrul districts are under the ambit of the IFAD sponsored project.
Before extending the project to Chandel and Churachandpur districts, NEC Secretary UK Sangma and DoNER Joint Secretary JP Sharma will be arriving at Imphal tomorrow together with other officials.
The DoNER and NEC team will visit Moreh and make a spot assessment of the Integrated Check-Post being constructed there.
The team is also scheduled to visit Churachandpur district hospital, the tribal hostel as well as other projects taken up with NEC assistance.
The team will also hold a meeting with officials of Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland about the integrated tourism master plan prepared by the Tata Consultancy Services for the entire North East region.
