Delayed bill

Even as construction of K Leihaoram Primary School building in Ukhrul district was completed and inaugurated wayback on May 12, 2011, pending bill of the work has not been released till date.
A JAC formed in this matter has threatened to launch series of agitations until the pending amount is released at the earliest.
In a statement, Rockson Shimray, agency assigned for construction of K Leihaoram Primary School under MsDP said that work order for the construction of Leihaoram Primary School was assigned to him as per an order of the EE, DRDA, Ukhrul on December 20, 2010 .
The work was directed to be completed within six months from the date of issue of the order.
Accordingly, the School was inaugurated on May 12, 2011 and the same handed over to the school authority.
However, after completion of the work and even after inaugurating it, the agency was not sanctioned the due amount of the bill till date, he rued.
Rockson said the school building was inaugurated by the SDO of Kasom Khullen, K Shyamchandra Sharma on May 12 last year.
The SDO had also submitted a report regarding the completion of the school building to the DRDA Ukhrul thereby recommending the release of remaining amount of the bill to the agency concerned.
Accusing the authority of callous, a JAC, 2010-11 MsDP/MOBC Executing Agency, Ukhrul district was formed, Rockson Shimaray, who is also the secretary of the JAC said.
Casting aspersion that the fund meant for the work could have been misappropriated by those who are in the helm of the affair, the JAC warned of launching series of democratic agitations till the due amount is released.
The JAC also appealed the State Government to look into the matter and redress the grievances at the earliest so as to avoid unwanted circumstances.
