AR conducts awareness lecture on Covid vaccine, cancer and immunisation

Kakching Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted an awareness lecture on COVID vaccine and immunization in Kakching on 19 and 20 February.
While adequate attention has been given by Assam Rifles to educate the locals of Kakching and troops about 'DOs and DON'Ts' to be followed during the pandemic, a need was also felt to educate the troops and debunk the myths related to COVID vaccination.
The Medical Officers of Kakching Battalion conducted the awareness lectures and educated the troops about the COVID 19 vaccinations.
This lecture was followed by an interactive session wherein all queries related to the vaccine were appropriately addressed.
Kakching Battalion aims to disseminate details of COVID immunisation to the locals of Kakching in times to come thereby debunking the damaging myths related to COVID 19 vaccine.
On the other hand, SajikTampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) is observing SwacchtaPakhwada week under Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Mission in the remote locations of Chandel district from 19 to 25 February 2021 .
The event is being conducted with an aim to emphasise the importance of spreading awareness about Swacchta mission and its implementation.
Various activities ranging from Swacchtashapath, talk on community outreach, tree plantation and lectures on personal hygiene and sanitation have been planned for the week.
The event aims to cover all the remote villages of Sajik valley to include Gelbungjang, Chahkap, L Haika, Haika, Paldai and P Salem.
This week long Swacchta Pakhwada will encourage the locals to inculcate the importance of hygiene and cleanliness for self and the country.
On the other hand the Assam Rifles also organized cancer awareness among the locals, Somsai battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised Cancer awareness campaign and Medical Camp at Awangkasom village in Ukhrul district on Friday.
The villagers were briefed about various types of cancers, its symptoms, precautions and treatment options available.
The villagers were also made aware about the various health and medical beneficiary schemes of the government.
The Assam Rifles also conducted an awareness program on the vices of drugs on youth and society.
In addition, a medical camp was also organised wherein almost 100 villagers were provided medicines for common ailments and masks.
At the end of Campaign Troops of Assam Rifles and Villagers of Awankasom, Kurei, Kalhangvillagesalongwith children of Credential English School took a pledge to make Manipur free from Drugs abuse and Cancer.
