ECI discusses mismatched pics

The Election Commission of India held a full commission member meeting today at New Delhi to discuss the report of photographs of voters taken at polling stations during voting not matching with the photos on the Electors' Picture Identity Cards in the recently held 10th State Assembly election.
According to a reliable source, the meeting was convened following a detailed report forwarded to the ECI by the State CEO concerning 523 polling stations against which complaints were received and mismatching photographs were detected in the recent election.
However, what had transpired in the meeting could not be ascertained till the time of filing this story.

The CEO was reported to have submitted a detailed reports of the complaints lodged by candidates, and political parties.
The photo comparison exercise had thrown up a number of cases wherein the photos did not match.
Meanwhile, as the ECI has begun a detailed study on the reports submitted by the CEO, the Commission has annulled its earlier circulation to political parties of meeting a special observers team that was scheduled for February 22 at Imphal.
