Man sent to jail for raping daughter

Imphal, August 21 2021: Special Judge (POCSO) Imphal East on Saturday sent a man, accused of raping his minor daughter, to jail.

The accused person has been identified as Telem John (36) s/o T Valendra alias Bolendro of Khurai Chaithabi Leirak.

He is the step father of the victim.

According to a report, police produced John before the Court via video conferencing on Saturday.

As per the submissions of the Special PP of the case, John outraged modesty of his minor step-daughter multiple times and also recorded many obscene videos.

Unable to bear the sexual abuse anymore, the girl ran away from her home.

However, she came across a team of Imphal police station, who handed her over to Child Line, Imphal East.

After examining submissions of both counsels, the Court remanded John to judicial custody till September 4 .
