Two more succumb, active cases cross 700

Imphal, April 24 2021:
While the total number of COVID-19 active cases in the State has surged past 700, the virus has claimed two more lives.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that a 46-year old woman from Imphal West ad a 63-year old man from Imphal East expired at Shija Hospital and JNIMS Hospital respectively during the last 24 hours.
Taking the latest victims into account, the death toll has spiked to 383 .
Moreover, 130 new positive cases (127 civilians and three CAPF personnel) were detected during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, CMC, Babina Diagnostics, Jivan Hospital, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching, Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Chandel, Jiribam and Churachandpur.
The 127 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (50), Imphal East (23), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (30), Ukhrul (5), Kangpokpi (3), Churachandpur (2) and Chandel (5) .
On the other hand, 13 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (12) and Shija Hospital (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 30,281 (general population 26,770 and Central security personnel 3,511) .
This figure includes 705 active cases (general population 641 and Central security personnel 64) and 29,193 recovered cases (general population 25,750 and Central security personnel 3,443).The recovery rate as on Saturday is 96.40 per cent.
Out of 18 air passengers tested today at Imphal airport, two were found positive.
So far, 4,126 persons have been tested on arrival at the airport and 89 have been found positive.
Air passengers who came to the State on April 20 by Indigo flight 6E-6358 in rows 18-24, April 22 by Indigo flight 6E-6181 in rows 2-10 and Air India flight AI-889 in rows 12-18 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
As per latest information provided by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, 1,23,720 people have been vaccinated against the virus in the State.
Further, all persons above 45 years have been advised to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and select private hospitals.
