Two minors hurt in wind havoc

Kangpokpi, February 21 2016 :
Two minor Sunday School student were severely injured when a strong wind damaged the temporary Sunday School classroom this noon at S Buning village in Saitu-Gamphazol Sub Division under Gamnom Sapormeina Police station.
The injured minors were identified as Lhingemhoi Chongloi (6), d/o Kamjang Chongloi and Chongneikim Kipgen (6), d/o Lamngam Kipgen, both from S Buning village.
The injured minors were immediately rushed to CHC, Kangpokpi where the doctor referred them to Imphal.
A strong wind hit the village at around 12 noon today completely damaging the temporary Sunday School classroom of S Buning village.
The school children were taking Bible classes as usual when the incident happened.
It has been reported that when the duo were sent out for a short break after completing their task when the destructive wind struck the classroom.
Surprisingly enough, the children inside the school building were safe while the duo who were out of the classroom sustained injuries.
Strong winds have been witnessed from Friday evening at Sadar Hills though no major tragedy had been reported.
A giant aged tree at Keithelmanbi (Champhai) was reportedly rooted out yesterday night by a strong wind while denizens of Kangpokpi experienced a terrible blustery winds yesterday night.
