'Rotary Mega Health camp' held at Haipi in Kpi district

Kangpokpi, October 06 2019: Thousands from Haipi village and its adjoining areas in Kangpokpi District availed the free medical facilities provided during Rotary Mega Health Camp organized by Rotary Club of Imphal, Rotary International District - 3240 at Haipi village in Kangpokpi district today.

One of the most successful and largest free health camp held so far in the district, the Rotary Mega Health Camp was supported by Babina Diagnostics, Shija Hospital & Research Institute (SHRI), JNIMS, RIMS, Dental College RIMS, Mother's Care Children Hospital & Research Centre, Department of Medical and Health Service, GoM and Central Representative Unit (CRU) .

More than one thousand villagers/patients were provided free health check-up during the camp.

Health facilities such as free diabetes screening test, mobile dental clinic, portable ECG, Ultrasounds, etc, were also given to the patients apart from providing medicine worth around Rs 5 lakh free of cost.

Specialist doctors in orthopaedics, gynaecology, paediatrics, dental, and medicine gave their services in the health camp apart from various services from other departments such as Surgery, Ophthalmology (Eye), ENT, Dermatology (Skin), Psychiatry, Ultra Sonography (USG), ECG, Babina Team (Clinical & ECG) and Pharmacy.

The Rotary Mega Health Camp at Haipi was kicked off after a formal launching programme in the presence of Thangminlen Kipgen, president NPP; K Kipgen, Director and Soil Conservation, GoM and Goulien Kipgen, IRS.

During the camp, the Rotary Club of Imphal was presented simple gifts as a token of gratitude and appreciation.

Rotarian W Rabichandra, president Rotary Club of Imphal while addressing media persons on the sideline of the Mega Health Camp said that the health camp was organised under RCI annual community project and it is the first and one of the largest health camp organized for the current year.

He continued that the club's motive is 'Health for all, especially women and children' and it is our aim to reach the far-flung and interior villages where medical facilities are limited.

The RCI president also thanked all the supporters who enthusiastically provide their service during the camp in the larger interest of the people and appreciated the masses for their keen participation in the camp.

Meanwhile, Goulien Kipgen, IRS who is also the Chief of Haipi village expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Imphal in choosing and organizing such a mega health camp at Haipi saying that it was one of the first and most successful such health camp conducted in the village.

He also conveyed his sincere gratitude to all the departments who supported the Rotary Club of Imphal in the Mega Health Camp as well as the 38 Assam Rifles and others for their assistance and help for the success of the camp.
