As part of the continued humanitarian service rendered during the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, Seram Neken distributed edible items to families under containment zones in Thongju AC.
So far, around 500 families have been benefited by relief materials and food aid distributed by dedicated volunteers by maintaining SoP prescribed by government.
The relief items were distributed in containment zones situated at Uchekon Khunou, Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Takhok Mapal, Chongabi, Uchekon Laikon, Khongman, Bashikhong, Torban Kshetri Leikai.
Seram Neken, Zilla Parishad member of Imphal East district, has been extending this humanitarian service since the 2nd wave hit the state.
He has also opened a Food Bank at his residence to cater to the needs of the Covid affected families of Thongju AC.
The needy people of the constituency may seek help from the Food Bank through the helpline numbers, and the dedicated volunteers will deliver the edible items.
Seram Neken is also an intending candidate in the ensuing State Assembly Election, appeals to all people of the constituency to bear with the pains during this pandemic situation.
He informs all needy individuals and families to call the helpline numbers reasonably, and possible help from his side will be extended.
He appealed all the public not to panic and strictly follow the SOPs to protect from the Coronavirus infection.
As early detection and timely treatment are highly recommended, he appeals to all concerned not to conceal the ailment, and come out to promote health seeking behaviour.
Further, Seram Neken called upon the general public to limit the use of electronic gadgets and social media, and not to believe in the rumours circulated in social media.
Instead, he suggested to all children and adults to indulge in creative activities like painting, singing, reading, gardening and yoga during the lockdown period.
Pukhao GP member carries forward relief work In another instance, Member of Pukhao Gram Panchayat Ward No 5, Nongthombam Kabichandra also carried forward his philanthropic activities to assist curfew affected people of Pukhao Areas.
As a part of his continuous campaign essential commodities were distributed to around 110 households today in Pukhao Ahallup and Pukhao Naharup Makha Leikai.
He has also expressed to continue relief work at his own capacities and as a local representative.
Relief material at CHIC at Meitram and Malom P Premananda Meetei, State General Secretary, BJP Manipur Pradesh distributed masks, sanitizer, hand gloves and bottled water at CHIC opened at Malom Megha High School and College of Social Work, Meitram today.
Speaking at the event, P Premananda Meetei said we have come out to do social work for the welfare of the people and if we do not engage in social work at such critical juncture, then when will we work for the people.
The event was also attended by Ph Phoni Meitei, president, BJP Imphal West District; L Nobo, president, Kisan Morcha, BJP Imphal West; L Indrajit, president, BJP Naoriya Mandal and members of Imphal West District COVID-19 Warrior Team.
P Premananda Meetei also appealed all the members of district level and mandal level committee to extend help to the needy in this critical time and also to take care of themselves not to contract the virus.
Relief items distribution at Kanto Sabal Leikai Oinam Sanayanba Singh distributed edible items to families of Kanto Sabal Leikai ward number 8 today.
Families affected in and around containment zones were provided with essential items including lentils, cooking oil, salt, potato, fruits and vegetables.
Oinam Sanayanba Singh said the items were distributed keeping in mind the unvailability of food items due to curfew imposed by the Government in the wake of the second wave of the pandemic.
