CATA condoles demise of Irom Maipak

The Cine Artistes & Technicians' Association (CATA) Manipur expressed deep condolences over the 'shocking' and untimely demise of national award winning cinematographer Irom Maipak, who passed away on May 19 due to Covid-19.In a condolence message, CATA secretary Kishan Long-jam remembered Maipak as a humble person who never compromised with his work.
Further stating that he will always be remembered for his fine cinematographic crafts within the film community, CATA described Maipak's demise as an irreparable loss to the world of Manipuri cinema.
'The man who made frames has gone but he will remain framed in the hearts of many', CATA said and prayed for the eternal peaceful rest of the departed soul and shared grief of the bereaved family.
It also recalled that the national awardee had worked closely with renowned filmmakers Aribam Syam Sharma, Oken Amakcham, Haobam Paban Kumar and others.
His untimely demise has left an irreparable loss in the Manipuri Film industry, it conveyed.
