Imphal, February 19 2018:
The All Manipur Hill District Education Employees Association has demanded the authority concerned to make arrangements for ensuring that service book digitization is done at the ZEO level.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the association's spokesperson LR Koireng condemned the order issued by the Directorate of Education on December 29, last year, which instructed the employees to submit their service books to the Directorate's office by March 10 .
He urged the authority concerned to cancel the order taking into account the immense hardships which will be faced by the employees when their service books are taken away to the office for digitization as well as the inconveniences which will be faced when the employees need to give their signatures for yearly increment.
He reasoned that service book digitization will be a burden for employees in far of places like the hills and demanded the authority to make arrangements for digitization of the service books at the ZEO level.
If the State Government fails to provide a positive response to the association's demand by February 21, the association will not back off from its proposed mass casual leave the next day, he warned.
