VDFs to donate '28 lakh to CM CRF

All Manipur VDF Welfare Association is all set to donate one day's wage of more than 10,000 personnel to the CM's COVID-19 Relief Fund (CM CRF).
According to a statement issued by association president Moirangthem Amuthoi Singh, 10,050 VDF personnel are performing their duty round the clock as frontline warriors amidst the pandemic at containment zones and Covid Care Centres in all 16 districts of the state.
In view of the keen initiative that chief minister N Biren Singh is taking in the fight against COVID-19 with the support of the people, members of the association decided to donate one day's wage to CM's COVID-19 Relief Fund, Amuthoi said, adding that one day's wage for a VDF is Rs 288.33 and the total amount to be donated therefore is Rs 28,47,466.Amuthoi also expressed confidence that the amount to be donated by the association would help the government in solving shortage of oxygen, which has become one key reason for increasing fatality rate and the small amount donated by VDF personnel would help in saving lives of the people.
The statement further said that central committee of the association has written a letter to chief minister N Biren Singh so that relevant official can issue an order for deducting one day's wage from all the VDF personnel.
