United Club backs Mao people

United Club, IMC Ward No 4, an apex body of the seven registered local clubs of IMC Ward No 4 has condemned the unfortunate incident that had happened involving Mao people as a result of the ongoing tension between Manipur and Nagaland on Koz�ri and Dz�kou.
A press statement released by Convenor of the United Club stated that there have been continuous threats in the state's boundary after Manipur, once an independent country was merged into India.
Kiyampok Lamjao (Kabaw Valley) was given to Myanmar without the consent of Manipur's people, who were the actual owner of the valley.
Only to appease a group of Naga armed faction Indian State let 18 Manipuris sacrifice their precious lives, it added.
It is the state government's negligence that caused all the issues on territorial boundary, it blamed.
Manipur govt.has not yet sent any ministerial team to meet either PM or Union Home Minister to discuss the territorial boundary issue.
Neither has it sent any representative of the state to meet its counterpart Nagaland for any conclusion.
It further added that the provocative statement by Nagaland CM who tried toterm the issue as ethnic clash is unfortunate.
But the role which our own Mao people have played while some people of neighboring state tried to snatch our ancestral properties is very much to be appreciated, it concluded.
