Imphal, April 29 2013:
Students of Mongkot Chepu High School today staged a rally protesting against the posting of a new Headmaster at the school and demanding retention of in-charge Head-master Th Kamkhothang.
The students attributed revival of the school which had been defunct to the efforts of in-charge Headmaster Th Kamkhothang.
Shouting slogans like "Don't change our local Headmaster" throughout the course of the rally, the students expressed strong disapproval of the Government's recent move of posting KS Ningui as the school's Headmaster.
At one time, there were just around 40 students in Mongkot Chepu High School and it was on the verge of complete closure.
The school building was in a pathetic condition and all the classrooms were in shabby conditions.

It was the dedicated efforts of Headmaster in-charge Th Kamkhothang which steadily raised the number of students from 40 to around 300 .
Along with the growth in students' strength, physical infrastructure of the school started improving.
Earlier, when the school management and development committee and students approached the concerned ZEO to send Mathematics and Science teachers, there was no positive response.
Undeterred by the Government's lackadaisical attitude, local Headmaster in-charge Th Kamkhothang three teachers for Maths, Biology and Physics and he paid their salaries on his own.
KS Ningui was posted in the same school as Assistant Headmaster last month but he attended the school only once.
After that, he came with a Government order which posted him at the school as Headmaster.
Asking the authority concerned to retain Th Kamkhothang as their Headmaster, the agitating students maintained that they would not attend class if KS Ningui is sent to their school as Headmaster.
