First phase economic census today

Imphal, August 22 2019:
The 7th Economic Census (EC) would be conducted in two phases in the State and the first phase covering six valley districts of Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching and Jiribam would be launched on August 23, conveyed a press release issued by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics.
The second phase will be launched on September 9 in the ten hill districts namely; Senapati, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong, Noney, Churachandpur, Pherzawl, Chandel, Tengnoupal, Ukhrul and Kamjong.
The duration for the 7th EC is three months.
The implementing agency for the 7th EC is CSC e-Governance Services India Limited and for the first time, the EC would be paperless.
According to the press release, economic census is complete count of all establishments/units located within the geographical boundaries of the country.
Enumerators engaged by the CSC would do enumeration of all establishments by using a mobile app and all the establishments would be geo-tagged.
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), National Statistical Office, Regional Office, Imphal and the Directorate of Economics and Statistics would guide and supervise the CSC for smooth conduct of the 7th EC in the State, it conveyed.
Saying that the enumerators would visit door to door and collect information of all establishments, it appealed to all the people to cooperate with the enumerators by providing correct information.
