CM graces Sainik School's Annual Day

Sainik School Imphal celebrated its 43rd Annual Day with great zeal and gaiety today.
Okram Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister, Manipur attended the function as the chief guest.
M Okendra Singh, Education Minister, CAF & PD, Ng Bijoy Singh, MLA and Chairman, MPCB and Colonel Ajay Dixit of 57 Mtn Division were amongst the dignitaries who attended the celebrations, according to a statement issued by the PRO, Defence, Imphal.
Addressing the gathering, the CM said that the school stands as a cradle to impart quality education to the cadets by and large.
He expressed his utmost delight over the laurels brought by the cadets of SSI in numerous occasions for the State.
He assured that the State Govt will take up necessary steps to further improve the infrastructure and other facilities of the school.
Further, the CM urged the cadets to work hard with a will to succeed in their future life.

The CM inspected the Sci-ence & Arts Exhibition at the Academic Block later, it said.
The programme started with invocation by the cadets followed by a school report given by the school Principal, Lt Col Praveen Kumar.
Cadets showcased their talents and skills by performing different activities like solo songs, group songs, English drama, modem dance and Manipuri cultural dance during the cultural programme.
Netaji House bagged CBSE and Academic Trophies while Raman House bagged trophy for best performance in Co-curricular activities.
Tagore House clinched the Cock House Trophy for the current academic session.
Cdt Boris, Cdt Prameshwor and Cdt Aditya of Class X bagged Capt (L) Bimolkumar Singh Memorial Award while Cdt Donail of Class XII bagged Maj (L) S Khanbehari Singh Memorial Award for best performance in Class IX and XI final examinations respectively.
Cdt Raikishore, Cdt Newton, Cdt Angalba, Cdt Thomson, Cdt Ashish and Cdt Prashanta of Class XI bagged Capt (L) Bimolkumar Singh Memorial Award and Maj (L) S Khanbehari Singh Memorial Award for outstanding performance in Class X, CBSE for the academic session 2014-15 .
Capt (L) Bimolkumar Singh Memorial Award for overall best house in games and sports 2015-16 was conferred to Raman House, it added.
