Govt assistance promised to arts and culture students

All Manipur Arts and Culture Students' Union organised its 16th Foundation day at J N Dance Academy on Tuesday.
Dr K Sushila, Director Art and Culture, GoM, S.Manglemjao, IPS IGP Manipur, L Upendra Sharma, Director Manipur Dance Academy and H Shyamkumar Sharma president AMACU attended the function as distinguished guests.
Dr Shusila speaking at the gathering informed that cultural organisation may apply for the annual financial assistance and the application forms will be made available soon.
She also informed that spot investigation will be done before the financial assistance is released.
Rules and regulation for the same purpose will also be formulated, the director said and informed that the financial assistance will be given to organisations which are functioning properly.
She also said that for the hill districts the assistance is given a sum of Rs 3 Lakhs each through Autonomous District Council.
Altogether 46 artists who are enthusiastic about their art works were encouraged by honouring with appreciation certificate and shawls.
Mani Khuman president of AMUCO said that culture plays a great role in bringing a place to the public attention and the State government should honour the artists who have brought laurels to the State by absorbing them in the government jobs as is done in other fields.
