Imphal, March 28 2017:
"Krishna Kali Daman", a Manipuri dance drama produced by Harimati Dance and Music Centre, Kongpal was showcased at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound today.
The occasion was presided over by president of the centre, Dr Kshetri Kala.
Director of the dance drama, N Harimati who is also the secretary of the centre said that "Krishna Kali Daman" is the 16th dance drama produced by the centre which is planning to produce more dance dramas.
She regretted that wealthy persons show less interest in traditional dance and cultural works in the State.
She said that around Rs 2 lakh is required to produce a Raas Leela while an amount of Rs 1.50 lakh is required to produce a ballet.
Even though many energetic youth come forward to take part in Raas Leela and ballet, the different dance forms could not be produced due to shortage of money, she said.
Now that artistes have got a facility for getting scholarship, incentive and stipend, they can continue with their artistic works without much hassle, Harimati added.
