Jiribam, February 24 2018:
Panjel club and people of Sorok Atingbi Khunou, Jiribam shut down the Sorok Atingbi High Aided High School in Jiribam, in connection with the alleged unfair practices by the school while hiring two teachers of the school.
A sit in protest was also held in which one of the protesters claimed that two teachers were appointed at the school through unfair practices.
The protester stated that the school notified the news of appointment only in 2017 although it (the school) claimed that the interview for appointment of the duo was conducted in 2014 .
He claimed that the club and locals have submitted a representation to the authority concerned not to appoint the teachers using unethical means.
Despite the appeal, the duo were allowed to sit for the DPC/verification on February 17, against the demand of the people and the club.
Following the ignorance and negligence of the authorities concerned, the club and locals shut the school and staged a sit-in in front of the school.
The protesters warned to shut the school indefinitely if the authorities concerned fail to bring a positive solution to the matter at the earliest.
