National integration tour flagged in

A National Integration Tour 2018 under 'Operation Sadhavana' was organised by Assam Rifles of Churachandpur under the aegis of Red Shield Division.
The tour was flagged off on February 1 by Brig Ajay Kumar, Commander, Assam Rifles Churachandpur to Delhi and Agra and was flagged in back today, conveyed a press release issued by PIB Defence Wing.
The flagging in ceremony was attended by V Hangkhalian, Minister of Agriculture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry; Khaipao Haokip, Chairman, ADCC; Addl SP Mangpu Khongsai, Churachandpur, parents, 80 students and 10 teachers of Lanva High School.
The event not only widened the intellectual horizon of the young minds but also further deepened the spirit of National integration.
A total of 16 students and two teachers from Lanva Model Government High School, Churachandpur district participated in the National Integration Tour spanning over 15 days, it said.
The tour acquainted the children from remote areas of the State with the vast and rich cultural heritage of the country.
As part of the tour, the children visited various places of interest in Agra like Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Buland Darwaza and Swaminarayan Temple, Akshardham Temple, Tank Museum, Nehru Planetarium, Nehru Memorial Museum, India Gate, Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple etc in Delhi.
The students also met and interacted with the President Ram Nath Kovind, and Kiren Rijiju, Union Minster of State for Home Affairs, it added.
