BSF recovers arms and ammunition

Imphal, June 10 2011:
One country made .38 pistol with magazine loaded with five rounds, a hand grenade and seven live rounds of 7.62 ammunition concealed in a rice bag was recovered by troops of D-coy of 116 battalion BSF, an official report said Friday.
The rice bag was abandoned by suspected PLA cadres who escaped from the troops.
When asked by the troops they did not stop for frisking and checking, the BSF report to the Thoubal police said.
The suspects managed to escape taking advantage of the thick pine forest at Kairenbikhok village, about eight km south east of Thoubal PS, the delayed BSF report to the police said.
