VBS enlivens Bible learning with fun games, healthy treats

Ukhrul, June 29 2015 : Blending serious Bible studies with a mosaic of fun games, creative activities and other healthy treats, the Hunphun Baptist Church (HBC) emphatically captured the imagination of hundreds of children in learning about God during the four-day Vocational Bible School (VBS) camp held at its campus on 25 to 28 June last.

Organized by the Sunday School Department of HBC, the Bible camp provided an exciting way of learning about God to a total of 260 participating children through various interesting activities like Creation in the Cup, potter's Hand, Camps throwbacks, Presentation and others, apart from them being imbued with serious Bible lessons.

Further, encouraging Group Participatory values in the youngsters, fun games like Laugh out Loud, Costume Day, Fun Quickies, Gift Exchange, Creativity in the Air, Good Food, Lots of Fun, Hugs and Love were also taken up.

Camp Directors Ameiangayung Kasomwoshi and Chipemwon Raleng said that among the participants were school-going kids starting from Kindergarten to Higher Secondary level.

The campers were grouped under eight different Houses during program comprised of four days described as "Boom Day, Fly day, Twinkle Day and WoW Day respectively.

Worship sessions were led by LS.

Jimking, Women Pastor HBC, Lummi Horam, Phayam Raleng, Kharkhui Raleng and Rindharwon Kaping.

They explained the love and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus based on the passages from the Book of John, while Speaker Lummi Horam delivered sermons during each Evening worship service.

Meanwhile, Associate Pastor cum Sunday School Superintendent Prem Raleng has said that HBC organizes VBS every year during summer to educate and instill into children the God-fearing values at tender age.

HBC Psalmist Team guided the campers in Choreography items during the programme.
