Jessami, August 22 2012:
One of the reasons, why employees are not willing to go to a remote place is because of not sending them along with a copy of Manipur Government's Employee List (MGEL), SDC of Jessami, Sanjenbam Dhananjoy has noted.
If the employees are not willing to go their new posting at far off places or at hilly region, then a copy of MGEL should be given along with the transfer order.
Because taking a new copy takes time and it should be done only in Secretariat.
So, when a person has been posted to a remote area, he could not come down all the way to Imphal to get a copy again, Dhananjoy said.
If employee lost the MGEL copy, he has to run from pillar to post in trying to get a new copy and it's a problem for employees who could not leave their work place.
Moreover, if the list is not with the employee, he could not get his salary, he added.
Informing that he has been in Jessami for the last six months without getting salary because of not having MGEL, the SDC questioned even if work is more important , how can an employee stay in a remote work place without getting salary? .
Highlighting the lack of basic infrastructure and facilities in Jessami, the SDC informed that there is no water and power supply even at his quarters.
Apart from this, there is also no adequate staff in the office.
He also drew the attention of the government for appointing the required staff for smooth administration.
