39 students run away from Slopeland Public School boarding

In a dramatic manner, altogether 39 Class IX students staying in boarding of Slopeland Public School at Khongjom, Thoubal district have ran out of the school boarding yesterday night around 11 unable to bear the ill-treatment meted out to them by warden of the school.
According to the students, warden of the school identified as Naorem Dijen from Khangabok entered the reading room of the school and made two students to scout for ten times on charges of not keeping their footwear in appropriate place.
When they complained of fatigue, the warden beaten them black and blue using stick.
Other students were also threatened with expulsion from the school by the warden who is also a computer teacher when the students requested not to beat two of their colleagues.
Annoyed at the high-handedness of the warden, 31 students ran out of the school boarding after having dinner at around 11 pm.
After coming up to Wabgai Bazar by foot, they then hired a Tata Winger from Wabgai Bazar and headed towards Moirang.
Interestingly, one of the two drivers turned out to be a policeman.
On knowing that the students have ran out of the school boarding, he called school authority, guardians of the students and Moirang police for having a talk regarding the incident.
During the talk, principal of the school assured guardians of the students that appropriate action would be taken up against the warden for his excesses act against the students.
On hearing the incident, members of Bishnupur Child Welfare Committee came in and enquired the incident.
