TSA calls 48 hour bandh

Imphal, November 17 2014:
The Thadou Students' Association today announced that it would call a 48 hour-bandh on the national highways starting the midnight of November 18, if the State government fails to fulfill their demands regarding the ultimatum against the land acquisition for the proposed smart city at Haolenphai, Moreh.
A release of the association warned that intensified forms of agitations will be continued if the Chief Minister fails to meet their demands that have been proposed in the memorandum submitted on October 21 .
The student group also suggested submitting another memorandum to the Prime Minister in the near future including a demonstration at New Delhi if necessary, added the release.
Meanwhile, the association has also clarified to the chief of Thangbung village and the public that the association is not involved in the legal dispute regarding the ownership of the proposed land area which was published on daily newspapers in an open letter by Ts Thurhring Anal, the Chief of Thangbung Village.
They urged for a support from the general public on the issue, said the release.
