Imphal, March 10 2009: Welcoming the support and extending gratitude to all sections and civil voluntary organisations of Manipur in the struggle to demand justice over the gruesome triple murder of the 'three sons of the soil,' the JAC against the killing of Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen has re-appealed to every civil voluntary organisations not to demand for punishment of the culprits beyond the purview of the law.

In a press statement, the JAC convener, S Subhangker also appeals all clubs and Leikais to curtail all kinds of entertainment during Yaoshang sports while saying that the support of the people of all sections would not only add strength in the present struggle but would also be a milestone in the fight against any kind of injustice in the future.

Reminding the resolution adopted in a public meeting on February 27, Subhangker said that any kind of demand for punishment of the murderers of the three should not be rose which are beyond the purview of the Law of the Land.

Referring to a demand raised by an Ukhrul based women organisation, Hunphun Shinao Long (HSL) which demands for 'befitting punishment by the custodians of the culprits' be rewarded, Subhangker said that it is very unfortunate that HSL had raised such kind of demand which stands contradictory to the demand of the JAC and the public.

Subhangker also maintained that the JAC is also shocked by the manner in which HSL has jumped into wild conclusion that the murder was carried out for 'mere personal economic interest, ' while the people are anxiously waiting for the truth to unfold from the enquiries being carried out at various levels by the state and the NSCN (IM).

He said that such ambiguity is very uncalled for at this critical juncture while adding that the JAC reiterates its demand to punish the culprits according to the Law of the Land.

The JAC Convenor also appealed all clubs and Leikais to curtail any kind of entertainment during Yaoshang sports while also reminding all organisers of sports to fly the flag at half mast.

The JAC also reminds all Yaoshang sports organisers to observe two minutes silence, wear black badge, and to conduct a debating competition on the topic - NSCN-IM gi mihat amasung sarkar gi thoudang � while adding that the cooperation would be of immense help in the struggle for justice.
