AR and Rotary organize medical camp

Imphal, September 09 2012:
Red Shield Division and its subsidiary units, together with Rotary Club, Imphal organized a medical camp cum cancer awareness camp at Presidency College at Motbung under Senapati district yesterday.
About 687 patients suffering from different diseases were given medical treatment apart from providing medicines free of cost to them during the camp.
Inaugurating the medical camp, Maj Gen Binoy Poonnen, VSM, GOC Red Shield Division expressed his sincere appreciation to Senapati Brigade and its subsidiary units for their efforts in organizing the camp.
He further said that the medical camp was also a means for the Army to portray its genuine concern for the people of Manipur and its seriousness to bring peace and well being in the state.
He thanked Rotary Club, Imphal for extending their support.
At the cancer awareness camp, Rtn Dr Th Tomcha Singh, HOD of Radiological Department of RIMS; Dr Indrakumar Singh, President of the club, and Dr Madhumangol Singh delivered lecture on the topic of the cause of cancer and its prevention, Gynaecological cancer and prevention of ENT cancer respectively.
