5 day festival of MIFF award winning films to be held

Imphal, March 28 2017:
Films Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Department of Information & Public Relations, Government of Manipur, Manipur State Film Development Society and Film Society of Manipur will organise a five day festival of Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) award winning films at State Information Centre, Palace Gate from 5 pm, March 30 .
Eminent film critic RK Bidur, winner of Swarna Kamal Award for Best Film Critic of National Film Awards 2008, will inaugurate the festival with the screening of Shivendra Singh Dungapur's internationally acclaimed film 'The Immortals' and two musical films namely Ingo Putze's 'Solo Finale' (USA) and Snigdha Banerjee's 'Nuptial Memoirs' .
Around 15 MIFF 2016 award winning films ranging from Polish, Danish, Khasi, Malayalam, Gujarati, English, Manipuri and Marathi will be screened in the festival everyday at 5 pm followed by a discussion on the films by a film personality regarding thematic, cinematic and aesthetic values of the said films with the audience.
Film critic and documentary film maker Bobby Wahengbam will talk on the films on the first day while other film personalities like Dr Meena Longjam, Oinam Doren, James Khangembam and Borun Thokchom will speak on the remaining days of the festival.
Film Society of Manipur has invited all film society members and intellectuals to attend the festival for sharing valuable thoughts on the films and to promote good film movement in the State.
