5-day NSS training prog kick starts

Imphal, February 24 2018:
A five-day training programme on Training of Trainers (TOT) for Life Skills Development for NSS Programme Officers inaugurated today at the Department of Education (New Social Science Block), Manipur University.
The programme emphasises on imparting training to trainers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Officers.
Professor Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University graced the function as chief guest.
Seiminthang Lenthang, State NSS Officer; Hemanta Rabha, Sr Project Officer, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (HE), Guwahati; Anjan Chowdhury, Life Skills Development Trainer (HE), Guwahati and Dr Keisham Shitaljit Singh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, MU attended the function as special guests and President respectively.
In his speech, Professor Pandey stated that such trainings should be extended to others as life skills development is required by masses.
He appealed to all the participants to derive maximum benefits out of the training and liberate confidence and leadership quality for future engagement in the socio-economic status of the State and society.
Hemanta Rabha elaborated on the activities of HE, informing that it is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneur-ship.
He stated that the main aim of the institute is to provide training, research and consultancy activities with the objectives of promoting, developing entrepreneurship, coordinating and collaborating with other organisations in undertaking training, research and other activities to increase outreach of the institute.
He extended his gratitude the Programme Coordinator NSS Cell of MU for accepting the proposal of IEE.
Speaking at the occasion, Seiminthang Lenthang stated that the State needs more such training programmes on life skills.
He also highlighted the structure and functions of the State NSS Cell.
Anjan Chowdhury urged all the participants to take maximum benefits from the training programme and share the knowledge with friends and peers to expand the purpose of the training.
He extended his best wishes to NSS Cell of MU to make the training programme a grand success.
