Categorically stating that terrorism brings nothing positive in any part of the world, ex-Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has called upon all Congress workers and members to work collectively towards fulfilling former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi' s dream of uprooting terrorism.
He was speaking at the 27th death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, also observed as Anti-Terrorism Day, at Congress Bhavan here today under the aegis of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).
Ex-Chief Minister O Ibobi, ex-Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and MPCC president TN Haokip led the gathering in paying floral tributes to the late Prime Minister.
All problems can be resolved only through peaceful dialogue and Congress party never believes in violence, Ibobi said.
It is hard to believe that the terrorists who assassinated Rajiv Gandhi might have achieved their goal, he asserted.
On being enquired about the political drama that unfolded in Karnataka, the ex-Chief Minister and CLP leader said it is good fortune for all the people of the country that the Supreme Court protected the Constitution.
India is a democratic country and everyone must be rejoicing on seeing that the Congress party succeeded in safeguarding democracy, he added.
