Imphal, September 20 2016:
The job card holders of Ward No 4/5,4/7,4/8 and 4/10 of Keirak Gram Panchayat have complained that they have not been getting works under MGNREGS since the past four years properly.
77 job card holders of these Wards have formed a JAC to press the matter to the authority concerned.
In a statement, the JAC said that they do not have any idea about the number of man-days granted by the Government and how much wages they are entitled to receive for these four years.
Stating that they did not get works under MGNREGS properly in the past four years, the JAC said that most of the works were also executed using machines.
When the matter was complained to Langmeidong BDO of Kakching CD Block, they were allegedly told to accept half of their wages instead of executing works.
However, wages of these 77 job card holders had been held back by Keirak GP although 50 per cent of the wages of job card holders of other Wards had already been distrib-uted, the JAC said.
