CM promises water supply scheme at GTV in Kakching Khunou

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that a water supply scheme will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 9.12 crore at Kakching Khunou in Kakching district to provide drinking water to the people of the area soon.
He made the announcement while speaking at a Go to Village camp jointly organised by District Administration, Kakching and Kakching Khunou Municipal Council at Kakching Khunou today.
Detailed project report had already been submitted and the sanction order is being awaited, the Chief Minister conveyed.
Considering the inconvenience faced by the people of the area at the time of medical emergency, N Biren Singh also said that Primary Health Centre, Kakching Khunou would be made operational 24x7 by deputing three more doctors soon.
Apart from constructing a new building of Kakching Khunou Municipal Council as soon as possible, the State Government would also consider repairing of Kakching Khunou market shed, he added.
He also said that the local playground would also be revamped under Government's Khelo India scheme.
Regarding people's desire of opening a bank branch at the area, the Chief Minister also promised to put the matter forward to the authority concerned.
Stating that the Go to Village mission was launched with an aim to deliver Government schemes and services at the doorsteps of the masses, the Chief Minister said that the mission had covered around 1550 villages/localities, both urban and rural so far out of the total 2660 census villages of the State.
The remaining villages/localities would be covered by March next year, he added.
N Biren Singh stated that other States had started adopting the model/idea of Go to Village introduced by the State Government.
The Chief Minister also conveyed that apart from constructing Transit Accommodations for Government employees in hill/interior areas, new vehicles had already been acquired for distribution to different districts to ensure reaching of governance to the people of hill districts/interior areas.
Stating that the mission of the present Government is to serve and uplift the weaker section of the society, the Chief Minister said that the Go to Village mission and noble schemes like Chief Minister-gi Hakshel-gi Tengbang, Chief Minister-gi Sotharabasinggi Tengbang and Lairik Tafnhansi scheme etc had been introduced towards this end.
He also said that the new Government had also started providing monetary assistance to entrepreneurs and educated and skilled youths of the State.
Speaking at the occasion, CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam observed that elected representatives of local bodies and local club volunteers should take proactive role in making the GTV successful.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker K Robindro, Sekmai AC MLA H Dingo, Councillors and Chairperson of Kakching Khunou Municipal Council, Additional Chief Secretary (Forest and Environment/Works) and State Level Nodal Officer of GTV Dr Suhel Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture/ CADA) Letkhogin Haokip, Principal Secretary (Commerce & Industry) P Vaiphei and Kakching DC Neilenthang Telien were present at the camp.
The GTV mission was also held in districts across the State.
