People stage rallies against mob lynching at different districts

Condemning the lynching of Md Farooque on September 13 on the mere suspicion of vehicle theft at Tharoijam, people in various districts staged protest rallies yesterday.
Strongly condemning the lynching, a Dua rally was organised yesterday at Thoubal Moijing jointly organised by Moijing Gram Panchayat Pradhans, members and Zilla Parishad members with the clubs and people of the surrounding.
The rally began from Moijing Awang Leikai Upper Primary School and proceeded towards Moijing Meena Bazar and nearby surrounding with slogans like "Stop mob lynching", "Sve want justice" and "we condemn the killing of At the rally, Moijing Gram Panchayat Pradan Md Abdul Warish appealed the public not to encourage mob lynching.
In Bishnupur, a torch rally was also held yesterday at Kwakta Municipal and Kwakta Gram Panchayat demanding justice for Md Farooque.
The rally was organised by CSOs including Jamet Tul Ullema, All Kwakta Meitei and Pangal Meira Paibi Lup, Kwakta Municipal Council, clubs and youth of the surrounding area of Kwakta.
The rally began from Kwakta Public Ground and proceeded toward Kwakta Terakhong, Khuman road, Thingel Leikai, Kwakta Lamkhai and Tiddim road before concluding at Kwakta Bazar.
The rally conveyed that they will support the movement of the JAC until justice is served.
Kwakta Gram Panchayat too organised a similar rally.
In Kakching, Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organization (JNGVO) and All Kakching Students' Union (AKSU) with locals and women vendors of Kakching Bazar organised a torch rally at Kakching Bazar yesterday, followed by candle light vigil at Irabot Park, Kakching Bazar.
Sugnu police too joined a rally organised by CSOs and locals at Sugnu.
Similar rallies were also held at Waikhong Bazar and Sekmaijin Bazar denouncing mob justice and justice for the victim.
In Chandel, NEMCS and OTBP also organised a torch rally at Chandel District Headquarters yesterday.
Village Chiefs, Women Society, All Chandel Badminton Association, Royal Riders Chandel, Chandel Football Friend, Japhou Bazar Authority and Self Help Groups participated in the rally.
Meanwhile, the Meitei Pangal Women Development and Welfare Association, Jiribam and Oriental Club, Babupara staged a candle light vigil today at Babupara against mob lynching.
